Dua for Immediate Wilayat

“O Allah, bless us all with Aml, Ikhlaas and Maqbooliyat. O Allah, forgive us our past sins and give us the courage to restrain ourselves from indulging in any form of disobedience to You in future. O Allah, bless us with the purification of our hearts, from greed, pride, malice, insincerity, show, anger, envy and jealousy. O Allah, bless us all with the best of Dunya And Aakhirat. O Allah, fill our hearts with Your Love and the Love of Rasulullah O Allah, bless us with such a bond with You that nafs and Shaytaan cannot distance us from You. O Allah, protect us, as well as the entire Ummah, from all the fitnahs that are lashing at us from all sides O Allah, forgive all those who have passed away. And when our time of death arrives, then let it be in a state of Imaan, and at a time when You are pleased with us. O Allah, we ask of You all the goodness which had been asked for by Your Messenger, Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم; and we seek Your protection from all evil things from which Your Messenger, Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم had asked protection from; Only You are capable of helping us.” (Aameen)

Dua for protection from Minor Shirk

“Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddique has narrated that Rasulullah (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said : ‘Shirk in my Ummah is much more hidden than the pace of an ant crawling upon a black stone.’ Shirk is very hidden. It enters the heart very silently and very few are saved from it. Upon hearing this, Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddique asked : ‘How can one be saved from it?’ Rasulullah صلى الله عليه وسلم said: ‘ Should I not show you such a supplication (dua) that if you recite it, you will be free from minor and major shirk.’ Hazrat Abu Bakr requested him to do so. Rasulullah (صلى الله عليه وسلم) instructed him to say : ‘Allahumma innee a’oozu bika min an ushrika bika shay-a`w wa-ana a’alam wa-astaghfiruka limaa laa a’alam.’ ‘O Allah, I seek protection in You from that I ascribe partners to You knowingly and I seek forgiveness from You for those things which I do not know.’ Minor Shirk is the doing of good actions for show, name, fame or recognition”

Combating the Whisperings of Shaytaan

A talk delivered by Hazrat Maulana Yunus Patel Saheb [Rahmatullahi ‘Alayh] [Musjid-e-Noor] at Musjid-e-Noor, Asherville, Durban, South Africa. “And say: My Lord! I seek refuge with You from the whisperings (suggestions) of the Shayateen. And I seek refuge with You, my Lord, lest they may attend (or come near) me.” ( Surah Al-Mu`minoon 23:97/98 ) Download

Islaahi Correspondence – Book One

Hazrat Maulana Yunus Patel Saheb (Rahimahullah) was the Khalifa of two great luminaries: Hazrat Maulana Hakeem Muhammad Akhtar Saheb (Rahimahullah) and Hazrat Mufti Mahmood Hasan Gangohi (Rahimahullah), and was, himself, the mentor, preceptor and spiritual guide of thousands throughout the world. Hazrat Maulana was an epitome of piety and righteousness and an ocean of wisdom in his guidance and advice to Saalikeen (those seeking the Path to Allah Ta’ala). This book is a compilation of selected replies to Islaahi correspondence, much of which was taken from e-mails that came from various parts of the world. The compilation of these questions and replies was prepared with Hazrat Maulana’s guidance and direction. It was hoped that many more benefit from the advice and prescriptions given since the same questions were asked by different people. This book contains 20 letters with their respective replies, and it was completed in Hazrat Maulana’s lifetime, in Ramadaan 1429 (September 2008). Confidentiality has been upheld, letters have been edited, and no names and details are made known or published. May Allah Ta’ala make this book solely for His pleasure and accept the very humble effort. May He make it a Sadaqa-e-Jaariyah for Hazrat Maulana, as well as myself and all those who contributed to its publication. May Allah Ta’ala grant us all a deep understanding of the knowledge acquired, accompanied with the ‘Taufeeq’ of practice on the Commandments of Allah Ta’ala and the beautiful teachings of Rasulullah Sallahu aalayhi wasalam – with sincerity and Divine acceptance. May Allah Ta’ala grant Hazrat Maulana (Rahimahullah) the best of Aakhirah. Ameen [Rabiul Awwal 1434 / January 2013] Download

Feeling Spiritually Low?

Qabz and Bast I have explained many times the condition of “Qabz” – that it is the spiritual “low” that saalikeen experience on occasion, whilst traversing this path of Sulook. In this path of Sulook, there are different experiences and states that overcome one : Qabz and Bast are conditions that alternate in the heart of the Saalik, but with progress, a different level and state of heart is attained – of complete equilibrium, where there is an enjoyment without any extremes. These conditions are typical states that overcome the heart and should thus be expected. There will be times when the Saalik experiences a spiritual “high” – more a state of spiritual ecstasy, where he is overcome by fervour and strong emotions of love for Allah Ta’ala. In this state, there is immense enjoyment in Ibaadaah, in his Salaah, Tilawat, Zikrullah, etc. The person does not want to be occupied with any other work, except be occupied with Allah Ta’ala, and continue to enjoy His communion by way of Ibaadah. Then there are times when the saalik seems to plummet from that “high” to such a spiritual low, such a spiritual “depression”, that he does not want to do anything. He finds that he has to now force himself to carry out acts of Ibaadah. There is no enjoyment in Salaah, in Tilawat, in Zikr and the feeling is burdensome upon the heart, as if a weight is holding him down. At such a time, what should the person do? Download
